Kumite Champ
The original 1984 Karate Champ arcade fight — now with live remote multiplayer.
The Original Arcade Fight — Now With Remote Multiplayer
Most retro gaming websites let you run Karate Champ in a browser. Kumite Champ does something different.
We built what ordinary Karate Champ emulators don't provide: live remote Player Vs Player competition over the Internet.
Kumite Champ uses the original Karate Champ: Player Vs Player arcade runtime and adds a networked multiplayer system so two fighters in different locations can compete against each other live.
Player 1 creates a private Kumite Match. Player 2 joins from another computer or phone using an invite link or Match Code. Then both players fight inside the original 1984 arcade game.
This is not a remake of Karate Champ and it is not simply another ROM emulator page. Kumite Champ adds something the original arcade machine never had: remote online multiplayer.
Now Challenge a Fighter anywhere in the world!
The Story Behind the Fight
Before Bloodsport became a martial-arts classic, producer Mark DiSalle and Enrico “Rico” Rossi had a real-life Karate Champ rivalry, fighting match after match at Westworld Electronic Amusement Center in Marina del Rey, California.
That rivalry is why Karate Champ appears in Bloodsport when Frank Dux and Ray Jackson meet over the game before entering the Kumite. More than 40 years later, Kumite Champ brings that same head-to-head competition into the Internet era.
Kumite Champ is built for fans of Karate Champ, Bloodsport, Jean-Claude Van Damme, martial arts and MMA culture, classic fighting games, and the golden age of arcade competition.
